Rio Tinto: Bursaries 2025
Rio Tinto’s South African operation, Richards Bay Minerals (RBM), invites applications for our 2025 Bursary Programme. We are seeking enthusiastic students or prospective students pursuing studies in the following fields:
Fields of Study:
- Engineering: Electrical, Mining, Chemical, Metallurgical, Marine
- Sciences: Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Data Science
- Finance: Accounting, Auditing, Banking
- Humanities: Sound Production, Journalism, Education
- Health Sciences: Nursing, Medicine, Pharmacy
- Management Sciences: Supply Chain Management
- Law
Eligibility Criteria:
In order to meet the criteria for the Richards Bay Minerals Bursary programme, you need to have already been accepted into a recognised University institution that provides your programme of study. Added to that, you also need to meet the general requirements:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Matric results (statement or certificate)
- A learner who achieved high marks in Grade 12
- Qualifying for financial assistance (in line with NSFAS guidelines)
NB. Students with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
How to Apply
Required Documents:
- Attach certified copy of ID (not older than 3 months)
- Attach certified Matric certificate or statement of results (not older than 3 months)
- Attach a proof of acceptance from a university
- Attach your proof of bank account
- Attach certified ID copy of parent/guardian (if signing on behalf of the applicant)
- Attach parent/guardian proof of income or payslip
- Attach motivation letter explaining your chosen field of study
