Old Mutual Investment Group: Bursaries for 2023

The Old Mutual Investment Group is inviting students to apply for funding, through the Imfundo Trust Scholarship, for the 2023 academic year.

Fields of study:

Bursaries / Scholarships will be awarded for studies within these fields:

  • Business
  • Climate Studies (Postgraduate)
  • Commerce
  • Computer Science and related qualifications
  • Data Science
  • Engineering
  • Finance
  • Management Sciences / Studies

Requirements:

  • You must be a South African citizen
  • You must be currently in Matric or have completed Matric
  • You must be studying or intend on studying full-time, towards a qualification in one of the fields listed above
  • You must be entering your first or second year of study in 2023 (except for Climate Studies, which is only for postgraduate students)
  • You must be studying or intend on studying at a recognised and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa
  • You must have achieved a minimum overall average of 70% in the mid-year Matric exams, with a minimum of 70% in Mathematics and 70% in English FAL or 60% in English HL, if currently in Matric
  • You must have achieved a minimum overall average of 65% in the most recent exams, if currently studying
  • Preference will be given to candidates from rural and township backgrounds

  • Matric certificate (certified copy)
  • Full academic record/ transcripts (certified copy)
  • Parents or guardians proof of income (latest payslips or letter from employer if employed, latest financial statements if self-employed, affidavit if unemployed) (certified copy)
  • Parents or guardians death certificates, if deceased (certified copy)
  • Parents or guardians divorce certificate, if divorced (certified copy)
  • Parents or guardians sworn statement, if separated (certified copy)
  • Signed consent form (.docx)
  • Profile picture
  • Proof of address (certified copy)
  • Essay (answering the following: description of your personal background and family circumstances, description of all your achievements and leadership positions, your personal strengths and weaknesses, how your chosen study programme relate to your talents; interests and envisaged career, your personal statement to headline your application profile)
