The Internship Programme will run for a period of a year until 2025 and a monthly stipend will be paid.

The following Internship Opportunities are open for applications:

Agreement Compliance Administrative Intern

Location: Braamfontein, Gauteng

Requirements: National Diploma or Degree in:Business Administration / Office Management, or a related field

Duties: Assist with general administrative duties, including filing, data entry, and document preparation. Conduct verification checks to ensure regions comply with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Consolidate reports from the regions for review and analysis. Maintain and update records, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality. Support the scheduling of meetings, preparation of agendas, and taking of minutes. Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations. Coordinate communication between internal departments and external stakeholders. Provide support in compliance-related activities, including reviewing documents and monitoring timelines. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Agreement Compliance Manager


Disputes Intern

Location: Braamfontein, Gauteng

Requirements: National Diploma or Degree in: Labour Relations / Human Resource Management

Knowledge: Filing Systems knowledge. Basic Report writing

Duties: Provide the first line of dispute resolution service to stakeholders. Open cases of dispute for Applicants. Ensure cases are correctly screened and captured manually and on the Case Management System. Providing support for telephonic enquiries and walk in clients. Ensure effective and responsive communication with internal and external stakeholders. Screen cases and ensure correct interpretation of Dispute rules. Management of dates received from Commissioners and Interpreters. Scheduling of cases within prescribed time frames. Execution of Rulings and Awards within prescribed time frames. Ensure perusal of Awards and Rulings within prescribed time frames. Maintain and update the Case Management System. Ensure invoices are processed and submitted on time. Ensure effective administration of Commissioners, Interpreters, employees and employers engagement. Management and allocation of boardrooms. The overseeing of regional reconciliation and preparation of closed cases for submission of claims to the CCMA. Assist clients with Section 143 application.


Human Resources Intern

Location: Braamfontein, Gauteng

Requirements: NationalDiploma or Degree in: Human Resources / Industrial Psychology

Duties: Provide administration support for the full Recruitment cycle. Capture and maintain employee data on SAGE and ensure data quality (e.g. appointment packs, employee relations packs, disciplinary warnings and other supporting documentation etc.). Coordination and processing all employee HR documentation including new engagements, employee movements/relocation, promotions and terminations on the system within agreed timeframes. Facilitate and support the off-boarding process by providing exit documentation to relevant parties (Pension Fund Withdrawal Forms, Medical Aid, UI19). Coordinate and assist employees with arranging employee wellness sessions via the LYRA (ICAS) programme (as and when necessary). Implement, maintain, and review HR Admin processes, procedures, documents and templates to ensure legal compliance. Liaise with the various HR departments/Centres of Excellence to source and compile information, documentation, reports etc. To assist the HR team with the recruitment lifecycle for all roles within the Council. Ensure all activities are performed in an accurate, compliant and timely manner.


Internal Audit Intern 

Location: Braamfontein, Gauteng

Requirements: National Diploma or Degree in: Internal Audit / IT Audit / Risk Management / Forensic Investigation

Knowledge: Filing Systems knowledge. Basic Report writing

Duties: Responsible for assisting audit and risk senior staff personnel in performing audits whilst empowering themselves with necessary auditing skills and knowledge.Assists with internal audit assignments and follow up on implementation of audit recommendations and management action plans under the supervision of experienced professionals. Compile working papers and prepare audit draft report(s) with findings and recommendations where necessary. Accountable for ensuring deadlines are met and work meet the required standard. Monitor quality of own work. Assist in daily tasks and departmental projects under supervision. Responsible for willingness to learn, grow your knowledge and experience. Ensure all information is filled, updated and readily available as and when required. Conduct ad-hoc administrative tasks as assigned by respective Line management


Procurement Intern

Location: Braamfontein, Gauteng

Requirements: National Diploma or Degree in: Supply Chain /  Logistics Management

Duties: Responsible for assisting and providing service and administration support within Procurement department.  Acquaint oneself with maintenance of professional working relationship with internal and external customers within supply chain environment. Assist with queries and learn to identify risk areas and familiarise oneself with controls of mitigating such risks. Educate oneself to use in-house system, i.e. SAP system.  Assist procurement team members and familiarise oneself with tender processes. Self-management by and ensuring that deadlines are met and work meet the required standard. Compile one’s self development plan and portfolio of evidence to review progress to monitor the quality of own work. Compile report(s) and the quality of reporting. Ensure all information is filled, updated and readily available as required. Conduct ad-hoc tasks as assigned by respective line management. Scan and file electronic documentation as and where necessary


Funds Administration Intern

Location: Braamfontein, Gauteng

Requirements: National Diploma or Degree in: Accounting / Finance.

Duties: Timeous processing and calculation of applications for Pro Rata’s, sick leave, holiday, settled cases from arbitrations, refunds to employers and AWOL. Capture all manual applications on the system, allocate to a clerk, print out the application, calculate the pay out, send off for checking, make any necessary changes and then create batches for the supervisor to sign off and load onto the Bank. Ensure all necessary supporting documentation is attached to applications, e.g. sick note for sick leave. Print out all online applications and perform spot checks, then create batches for the supervisor to sign off and load onto the Bank. Identify and resolve anomalies. Handle all walk in and electronic queries related to pay outs that are allocated to you. Update Foreigner bank account details if this duty is allocated to you. Reissuing Rejected payments and posting of Journals for employees, transferring funds. Perform other tasks as and when assigned by the Supervisor. Process of all monthly employer contributions according to the main collective agreement. Process special returns, cases and invoices. Ensure invoices and refunds are authorized by the Supervisor. Issuing and cancellation of invoices.  Attending to stake holder queries


Case Management Intern: Western Cape Operations

Location: Western Cape

Requirements: Diploma or Degree in: Labour Relations/Human Resources

Duties: Perform a client services function, or receiving visitors referred from client services to the office to enquire about specific cases and opening cases/files for those parties lodging a dispute if required. Capturing of daily applications on Case management system denoting all aspects of the case to be dealt with. Screening files/ referrals to ensure that all details are correct, that the stipulated timelines are adhered to, and that the required signatories have signed.  Scheduling of cases in terms of date, venue and time and informing both parties via fax and post of the details. Booking of interpreters and commissioners for cases and ensuring that a venue is booked timeously. Once the commissioner has made an award/decision, send to senior personnel to check and then distribute outcome to all concerned parties. Coordinate and manage the rescission and review applications and assign commissioners and interpreters to provide a ruling, and in some cases schedule all relevant parties to attend if the matter is complex. Ensure that all recording equipment is in good working order and operational for all cases to be heard.  Ensure all settlement agreements and compensation awards are loaded to the CCMA system to record for performance stats and accreditation status

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Must have the ability to take direction, pay attention to details
  • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team setting
