Are you a recent high school graduate (Grade 12) interested in a plumbing apprenticeship?

Makhado Local Municipality, in partnership with MMSEZ, is offering a skills development initiative for unemployed youth residing within the Makhado Municipal area. This program provides an opportunity to acquire valuable skills and qualifications through a three-year plumbing apprenticeship.

Qualifications:

  • Unemployed South African citizen residing permanently within the Makhado Municipality area.
  • Completed Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Minimum qualification of N2 with Trade Theory or NCV Level 4 in a relevant field (certificates required).
  • No prior internship program experience.
  • Age: 18-34 years old.

Important Information:

  • This is a learning and skills development program, not a permanent job offer.
  • The program aims to prepare participants for the labor market or self-employment.
  • The apprenticeship duration is 36 months (3 years).

Required Application Materials:

  • Cover letter specifying the apprenticeship position you are applying for.
  • Comprehensive curriculum vitae (CV).
  • Certified copies of original reports or certificates (N2 with Trade Theory or NCV Level 4).
  • Copy of South African ID document (both sides for Smart IDs).
  • Clear criminal record certificate (stamp not older than 3 months).
  • Proof of residence.

Selection Process:

  • Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview.
  • Appointments are subject to security clearance, verification of qualifications, and signing a learnership agreement/apprenticeship contract.
  • If you don’t receive a response from Makhado Municipality within 45 days of the closing date, consider your application unsuccessful.
