IIE Varsity College: Emerging Scholars’ Internship Programme 2023
The IIE Varsity College is implementing the Emerging Scholars Programme. The aim of this advertisement is to recruit candidates that have a passion for pursuing a career in academia and to improve the equity profile of the IIE, which constitutes an important aspect of the business.
The IIE Varsity College invites applicants with a Bachelors, Honours and/ or a Master’s degree or who are currently enrolled or plan to enroll for an Honours, Masters or PhD degree and who are from under-represented designated groups to apply for positions in the departments listed below.
Departments:
- School of Education
- School of Engineering
- School of Finance and Accounting
- School of Humanities& Social Sciences
- School of Law
- School of Management
- School of IT
Responsibilities:
The incumbents will be required to:
- Participate in a formal development programme aimed at strengthening their aspirations and skills as researchers and lecturers;
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses;
- Administration responsibilities in their departments.
Requirements:
- An Honours or Master’s degree in relevant discipline;
- Illustrate the potential to become a competent lecturer at the undergraduate level;
- Illustrate strong potential to become an established researcher.
Advantageous:
- Good communication skills
- Leadership potential
- One year teaching/tutoring and research experience at undergraduate/postgraduate levels (lecturer) would be an advantage.
