Gauteng Department of e-Government invites eligible South African students to submit applications for the 2024 Bursary Programme.

Preferred Qualifications/Fields of study:
Preference will be given to applicants studying in the following fields:
- Computer Engineering
- Computer Science
- Geoinformatics
- Data Science
- Graphic Design
- Informatics and Information Systems
- Information Technology (IT)
- Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
- Multimedia and Interactive Media
- Software Engineering
- Software Development
Eligibility Criteria:
- South African students aged 18 to 35 whose place of residence is within Gauteng Province.
- Applicants must demonstrate financial need based on household income.
- Must have gained admission to a SAQA accredited South African public university or University of Technology for an undergraduate qualification in specific fields (listed above).
- An average of 65% in required subjects aligned with the intended course.
What the bursary covers:
The bursary covers tuition fees, including registration, prescribed books, and study materials. The number of deserving students to be awarded the bursary is limited to 10, subject to budget availability. The fees committed are for the 2024 Academic Year.

Requires Documents:
- Certified copy of South African Identity Card
- Academic transcripts:
- Grade 12 Midyear Results (if in Matric)
- Current Academic Year results (2023) (if in the first or second Academic Year at the university)
- Evidence of total household income:
- Latest pay slip(s) not older than three months of guardian or parent(s)
- Confirmation letter from SASSA (for income grants)
- Affidavit confirming unemployment of guardian or parent(s)
