The Durban University of Technology Online Application

To apply for admission to DUT, prospective students are required to submit an online application. The online application process is a straightforward process that requires applicants to follow the following steps:

Step 1: Create an Account To start the application process, you need to create an account on the DUT online application portal. You can access the portal by visiting the DUT website at www.dut.ac.za and clicking on the ‘Apply to DUT’ tab.

Once you have accessed the online application portal, click on ‘Create new Application’. You will be required to provide your personal information, such as your name, email address, and contact number, among others. After filling in the required information, you will receive an email with your login details.

Step 2: Log in and Complete the Application Form Once you have received your login details, log in to the online application portal using the username and password provided. You will be directed to the application form, which you need to fill in with your personal and academic information.

The application form requires you to provide information such as your academic qualifications, employment history, and personal information. You will also be required to upload supporting documents, such as certified copies of your identity document, academic transcripts, and certificates.

Step 3: Pay the Application Fee After completing the application form, you will be required to pay a non-refundable application fee. The application fee varies depending on the program you are applying for and your citizenship status. South African citizens and permanent residents are required to pay a fee of R250, while international applicants are required to pay a fee of R500.

You can pay the application fee using a debit or credit card or via EFT. It is important to note that your application will not be considered until you have paid the application fee.

Step 4: Submit Your Application Once you have completed the application form and paid the application fee, you can submit your application. Before submitting your application, ensure that you have provided accurate and complete information and uploaded all the required supporting documents.

After submitting your application, you will receive a confirmation email from DUT. You can use your login details to track the progress of your application and view the outcome of your application once it has been processed.

DUT Online Application Requirements To be eligible for admission to DUT, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • South African National Senior Certificate (NSC) or equivalent qualification with a minimum of 30% in the language of learning and teaching of the higher education institution and a minimum of 40% in Mathematics, Physical Science, and Life Science, if applicable.
  • Alternatively, applicants can apply with a Senior Certificate (SC) with matriculation exemption or qualify for exemption from the Matriculation Board.
  • International applicants must have a school-leaving certificate that is equivalent to the South African NSC and meet the minimum admission requirements for the program they are applying for.
