The following Internship Opportunities are open for applications:

 

Library and Information Services Interns

Diploma or Degree in:

  1. Library / Information Technology
  2. Public Relation
  3. Public Management
  4. or equivalent qualification

Duties: Provide administrative support function in libraries, preparing the counter before opening according to routine procedures. Training users in accessing internet (eWorld computers/WIFI). Monitor the use of LIS computers ensure that the illegal usage is reported. Assisting with Internet Research for relevant digital content (latest trends, eBooks, relevant websites for the public). Assisting with organising library activities, such as Mobile Literacy programs or any program, using digital platforms (social media or internet).


Relief Staff Interns

Requirements: Must have a Grade 12 / Matric certificate

Duties: Provide administrative support function in libraries, preparing the counter before opening according to routine procedures. Training users in accessing internet (eWorld computers/WIFI). Monitor the use of LIS computers ensure that the illegal usage is reported; assisting with Internet Research for relevant digital content (latest trends, eBooks, relevant websites for the public). Assisting with organising library activities, such as Mobile Literacy programs or any program, using digital platforms (social media or internet).


Admin Officer Interns

Requirements: Degree or Diploma in: Labour Relation

Duties: Perform specific tasks / activities associated with provision of management support. Perform specific tasks/ activities with provision of provision of preparing and finalizing documents. Perform specific sequences associated maintaining registers, documentation instruction and correspondence. (Electronically based information / data / files). Performs specific / activities associated with performance management support. Render leave management administrative support to the directorate;


Junior Project Management Interns

Diploma or Degree in:

  1. Information Technology,
  2. Project Management
  3. or any Commerce field with Project Management

Duties: Improve organizational service delivery through the improvement of data processes. Participate in stakeholder management internally and externally, this includes the City’s Municipal owned entities. Participate good governance and management of risk. Compilation of reports that seeks to provide insight into the performance of the data section. Manage and monitor assets and resource of the Directorate. Perform specific administration and reporting requirements associated with the data section and individual performance.


National Treasury: Valuer Interns

Requirements:

  1. Real Estate: Property Valuation
  2. or qualification recognized by the SA Council for the Property Valuers Profession (SACPVP).
  3. Valid registration with SACPVP as a Candidate Valuer/Professional Associated Valuer;

Duties: Undertake research and field work for the valuation of all the types of properties and collecting information in preparation for property valuation including identifying and inspecting both the subject and comparable properties. Correct application of market value principles. Partake in the preparation and maintenance of the general and supplementary valuation rolls in a manner that meets all legal requirements and council policy. Perform administrative functions in line with the provisions of the MPRA.  Perform ad hoc tasks as Parks Contributions as and when required. Develop and execute day to day operational plan.


National Treasury: Process Monitoring Interns

National Diploma or Degree in:

  1. Law
  2. Audit
  3. Commerce
  4. Risk
  5. Compliance
  6. or equivalent

Duties: Monitor yearly compliance and process monitoring plans the identified monitoring measures regarding the compliance to the Legislation, Policies and Procedures within Property branch. Monitoring of the Departmental Strategic Risk and operational Risk Registers. Report on areas of non-compliance identified recommendations provided and action plans. Represent the property branch in various compliance and Risk management forums.


Data Scientist Interns

Degree in:

  1. Information technology
  2. Computer Science,
  3. Statistics,
  4. Mathematics,
  5. Physics.
  6. Chemistry,
  7. Analytical Chemistry
  8. Engineering

City of Johannesburg: Internship Programme 2023

The City of Johannesburg (CoJ) is offering Internship opportunities to suitably qualified and unemployed graduates. The Internships will run for a period NOT exceeding eighteen (18) months. 

Interns will be required to sign an internship agreement, in additional to an employment contract, committing themselves to full participation in the educational and workplace assignments in accordance with laid-down policies and procedures.
