The Master Builders’ Association Development Trust (MBADT) offers a bursary program for young South African citizens who have completed their basic education in schools within the jurisdiction of the Western Cape. The bursaries are aimed at supporting students pursuing tertiary education in disciplines related to the building industry. Here’s a summary of the key points:

- Provider: Master Builders and Allied Trades’ Association Western Cape (MBAWC)
- Objective: To support students in the building industry with their tertiary education costs.
- Bursary Duration: Initially for one year, renewable upon meeting specific criteria.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Nationality & Education: Only South African citizens who completed their basic education within Western Cape schools will be considered.
- Disciplines: Bursaries are for students pursuing careers in specific disciplines within the building industry.
- Financial Need: Applicant’s parents/guardians’ income should fall within the range of R350,000 – R600,000 per annum.
- Funding Exclusion: Applicants should not qualify for NSFAS funding or any other bursary fund or SETA (CETA) support.
- Preference: Preference given to applicants who are family members or employees of MBAWC member companies, and those employed by compliant member companies for a minimum of 24 months.

Funding Details:
- Payment: Bursary fees are paid in two tranches to the approved learning institution, subject to performance reviews.
- Funding Limit: The bursary covers the cost of annual tuition fees at an amount set by the Trust.
