LGSETA: Bursary Programme 2024

The LGSETA is inviting students to apply for their bursary programme, for the 2024 academic years. The Discretionary Grants Bursary 1st Funding Window is aimed at studies within fields related to the sector priority occupations and interventions (SPOI) List.

Fields of study:

Bursaries are offered for the following qualifications:

  • Accounting/ Financial Accounting/ Management Accounting/ Accounting Science (Bachelors Degree / Honours)
  • City/ Regional Planning/ City Planning and Urban Design/ Urban and Regional Planning/ Town and Regional Planning/ Development Planning (Masters)
  • Civil Engineering (N4, N5 & N6)
  • Civil Engineering (specialisations: Environmental; Construction Management; Water; Transport; and Urban Engineering) (Bachelors Degree / Diploma)
  • Civil Engineering Technologist (specialisations: Environmental; Construction Management; Water; Transport; and Urban Engineering) (Bachelors Degree/ Diploma)
  • Computer Science/ Computer Science and Information Systems/ Computer Science and Information Technology (Bachelors Degree / Honours)
  • Disaster Management (Masters)
  • Electrical Engineering (N4, N5 & N6)
  • Electrical Engineering (Honours/ Bachelors Degree/ Advanced Diploma)
  • Engineering Management (Master of Engineering)
  • Environmental Management/ Environmental Science in Disaster Risk Reduction/ Environmental Planning and Development/ Environmental Science/ Environmental Engineering/ Environmental Health (Honours/ Advanced Diploma/ Bachelors Degree)
  • Financial Management (N4, N5 & N6)
  • Information Technology related/ Information Technology in Support Services/ Information Technology Management (Honours/ Bachelors Degree/ Advanced Diploma)
  • Information Technology (NCV)
  • Public Accountability (Advanced Diploma)
  • Public Administration/ Public Administration and Management/ Adaptive Leadership (Advanced Diploma/ Honours/ Bachelors Degree)
  • Public Management (N4, N5 & N6)
  • Supply Chain Management/ Logistics and Supply Chain/ Supply Chain and Operations Management/ Public Procurement Management/ Public Procurement Policy and Regulation (Advanced Diploma/ Bachelors Degree)
  • Town and Regional Planning/ Urban and Regional Planning (Advanced Diploma/ Postgraduate Diploma)
  • Town and Regional Planning/ Urban and Regional Planning (Honours/ Bachelors Degree/ Post Graduate Diploma)

Requirements:

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying:

  • You must be a South African citizen or a permanent resident in South Africa
  • You must be currently in Matric or have completed Matric
  • You must be studying or intend on studying full-time, towards one of the above qualifications in 2024
  • You must be studying or accepted/ provisionally accepted to study at a recognised tertiary institution in South Africa (University, University of Technology or TVET Institution)
  • You must be unemployed

  • Proof of registration/ acceptance, if a new learner entering tertiary studies (on institutions letterhead)
  • Proof of residence and enrollment form, if already studying (on institutions letterhead)
  • Proof of unemployment (Affidavit)
